Château Pichon Baron
Perhaps one of the most photographed images of Bordeaux, with its 19th century towers. CEO Cristian Seely (AXA Millésimes), together with technical director Jean-René Matignon and consultant Eric Boissenot, is responsible for the impeccable quality of this classic and powerful Pauillac. This has been achieved largely by reducing the amount of ‘first wine’, in order to focus even better on the very best gravel plateau, located opposite Château Latour.
The above-mentioned vineyard is divided in the cellar into four blocks and 70 separate parcels, of which the grapes ferment in 44 separate stainless steel fermentation tanks after 100% optical sorting. This is without doubt an excellent wine, formed by a core consisting of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon. The support of 80% new oak barrels, is totally absorbed by a complete and complex wine that slowly builds in power with a long finish.
