Château Phélan-Ségur

Château Phélan-Ségur is a historic winery and an absolute star in the Saint-Estèphe region of Bordeaux, France. Founded in the 18th century, the estate has a rich history of producing high-quality red wines made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes. Phélan-Ségur’s vineyards cover over 80 hectares and are situated on one of the highest points in the region, allowing the grapes to fully ripen and produce wines with a pronounced character. A new classification of the Grand Cru Classés from 1855 will certainly add this wine estate to the illustrious list.

The château has undergone several renovations over the years, the most recent being in the 1990s when the facilities were modernized to improve the quality of the wine production. Recent quality impulses include a move to lighter toasted French oak barrels and the inclusion of petit verdot, for the clay-rich parcels, in the final blend. Today, Château Phélan-Ségur is one of the most respected wineries in Bordeaux and its wines are sought after by wine enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
