Château Palmer

Château Palmer is in the 1855 classification of the 3ième Cru Classés, but insiders have known for a long time that this château belongs to the absolute top of Bordeaux. CEO Thomas Duroux, together with technical director Sabrina Pernet (since 2004) and consultant Eric Boissenot, form an ultimate quality trio. Duroux is responsible for convincing the twenty (!) board members to further develop the development of biodynamic viticulture at Château Palmer. Since 2015, the addition of extra sulphites during the harvest has even been completely omitted. Quality is written in capital letters here and the aim is, with calibrating precision, for better results.

The Alter Ego, which debuted in 1998, surpassed many Cru Classés in 2016, partly due to the large proportion of cabernet sauvignon (one percent more than its bigger brother) and the considerable percentage of petit verdot. At the domain this is also not treated as a second wine, but as an independent wine with another expression of the terroir. Keywords with regard to the final wine; balance, dense, velvety, power, intense fruit and precision.
