Château Leóville Barton

Château Léoville Barton is a wine estate in the Saint-Julien region of Bordeaux, and is classified as a 2ième Grand Cru Classé. Anthony and Eva Barton have transferred ownership and management of the château to their daughter Lilian and son-in-law Michel Sartorius-Barton and their children Damien and Mélanie. The estate is known for producing very high-quality red wines with a solid core of Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vineyards of Léoville Barton cover more than 90 hectares in the Médoc and are located on excellent gravelly subsoil (Peyrosols). Two of the three plots are located around the château, the third closer to the Gironde.

The history of Château Léoville Barton dates back to the 17th century and the estate has been passed down through several generations of the Barton family. The family motto is; never overcomplicate things’.

The wines of Château Léoville Barton are highly regarded by wine critics and collectors and are known for their rich, full-bodied flavours and elegant, complex aromas. The estate produces a second wine called “La Réserve de Barton”, which is made from the younger vines and is intended for earlier drinking.
