Cave de l’Ormarine
Cave de l’Ormarine, established in 1922 by winegrowers from Pinet, boasts a rich history that stretches back over 2000 years. Located north of the vast Étang de Thau lagoon, the estate covers a wide area from the Cevennes to the Mediterranean Sea, encompassing diverse terroirs with clay-limestone as a prominent component. The proximity of the lagoon and the Mediterranean Sea acts as a thermal regulator, with winds such as the ‘Marin’, ‘Tramontane’, and the well-known ‘Mistral’ playing a crucial role in the health of the harvest. Thanks to the guarantee of cool nights and warm days, a high level of ripeness can be achieved.
The cellar provides advice and support to the winegrowers throughout the year during the various cultivation phases, with a special focus as the harvest approaches. Through technical mastery and innovation, Cave de l’Ormarine has positioned itself as a leading producer in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Thanks to investment plans, the cellar has been able to specialize the winemaking process based on terroirs and grape varieties in different production areas. The various locations – including Pinet, Villeveyrac, Cournonterral, Oupia, Olonzac, and Quarante – specialize in producing accessible white, red, and rosé wines. Within this range, we present, among others, a Picpoul de Pinet, a new addition that has long been high on our favorites list, and we are incredibly happy with it.
Cave de l’Ormarine produces balanced wines that reflect the diversity of the terroir and each grape variety of the region. These Haut de Sénaux wines, however, are at a perfect price point without sacrificing high quality. With this addition to our portfolio, a long-held wish of ours is fulfilled: to offer honest and expressive wines from Languedoc at an exceptionally high value for money.
