Kaiserhofkellerei
Kaiserhofkellerei is a project by Fritz Miesbauer, who was previously winemaker and manager of Domäne Wachau. He is currently the managing director of the Weingut der Stadt Krems, one of the oldest wineries in Austria. Fritz knows better than anyone how to make delicious and characteristic Grüner Veltliners.
The climate
The vineyards are located on the steep banks of the river, at an altitude of 300 to 400 metres. A warm wind flows into the valley from the south. In the north, the vineyards are sheltered by extensive forests. The summers in the valley are warm and dry, the winters cold. Due to the large temperature differences between day and night, the grapes develop a full and aromatic character here.
Rieden Selection
The grapes for the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling from Kaiserhofkellerei come from various friendly winegrowers from various vineyards in Lower Austria (particularly the Kremstal), who grow the grapes with great love for their vineyards. It produces a wine with a refined structure and great drinking pleasure. We are very pleased that the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling Rieden Selection from this winery are among the house wines in our range. Highly recommended.
