Tim Atkin rates this wine with an impressive 94 points: "Bodega Cerrón is one of my discoveries of 2023. Everything they produce is worth buying, but this might be their best red wine. Produced with monastrell and with a 10% of blends of blanquilla, bobal, forcallat and moravia agria, it is a delightfully lively and energetic cuvée from two of Spain's best young winemakers. Matas Altas, fermented with 15% whole bunches, comes from limestone soils in the high-altitude Fuente-Álamo area and is fresh, concentrated and bold, with hints of plums, blackberries and nuances of cloves and white pepper.
